is walmart bad for business

I tend to disagree with you Emily, becasue wal-mart is great for our economy. They sell products at a great price, and is great for the citizens of America. If wal-mart didn't do what they do with their companies, then people that can hardly afford to buy things at wal-mart already won't be able to pay for themselves to live. It's a win lose situation, but I would rather have a few businesses lose workers, than have millions of American's starve.

Wal Mart is known around as the richest, and possibly meanest company in the United States, and for a good reason too. Wal Mart destroys more jobs than it creates by putting local merchants out of business. It has also been known for burdening public health care programs. Wal Mart accounts for ten percent of our trade deficit with China, and the larger America's trade deficit is, the more American jobs are lost to foreign countries.Wal Mart may employ 2.1 million people in the U.S., but it's also destroyed major companies in the past, like Rubbermaid and Vlasic, by not willing to compromise with price ranges and slowly taking their items off the market. In the 1990s, Wal Marts around the world started selling pickles by the gallon, manufactured by a company called . Each gallon was sold for only three dollars and sales were going fast. However, when Vlasic asked Wal Mart to up the pickle price range a mere 49 cents, Wal Mart refused, threatening to take their items off the shelf. This is only one occasion where Wal Mart has threatened its manufacturers and, in the end, ruined a company, putting tons of people out of their jobs.Wal Mart is bad for the economy, gives their employees no workers rights whatsoever, and puts tons of small businesses out of business. So when I'm asked whether or not I think Wal Mart is good for America, I'd have to say that Wal Mart sucks.
